Aqui, caminhamos pelas colinas, falando sobre as vinhas e a história das Cinque Terre. Passamos pelos agricultores, com quem às vezes paramos para conversar, e pelos locais enquanto passamos pelas aldeias. Queremos que você se sinta como um de nós aqui. Esta é realmente uma experiência pessoal que se tem conosco. A caminhada vai de Riomaggiore para cima e de volta em direção a Groppo antes de ir para Manarola. Levará cerca de 4 horas de caminhadas, fotos e aprendizado antes que você possa comer em Manarola. O resto é uma fácil viagem de trem para o resort de praia de Monterosso. Aqui, você caminha ao longo do passeio através do túnel para a Cidade Velha. Visite esta pequena vila resort e termine o nosso passeio aqui. This was such an amazing tour and so glad that we did this. Our guide was so knowledgeable about the area and the history and he taught us so much about why the villages came about and that made the cinque terre so much more special and we appreciate it so much more. Pall met us outside our lodging in Manarola and we started the trek upwards there towards Riomaggiore. It was roughly 4 hours of trekking, which was at a very manageable with frequent stops to show us the plants, fruit greets, herbs and he also took great photos of us with amazing views. We then had lunch with amazing food and views before taking a train to Monterosso and then ferry back down to Manarola.

Pall was amazing. He arranged the whole day for us planned around when our cruise ship arrived in port and when we had to get back. He met us at the port, got us in a taxi, on to a train to our first village (where he actually lives) where we felt we were getting the back stage tour of Cinque Terre. We were able to get ahead of the crowds and see things we never would have noticed or understood on our own. The morning was spent hiking behind the villages through the vineyards. Pall was very knowledgeable about the agriculture and history of the area and shared his wealth of knowledge as we hiked up, up and up. Amazing views and we got some amazing family pics. He arranged lunch for us at a beautiful restaurant with an incredible view at the end of our hike. The rest of the day was spent visiting the remaining villages which were very crowded and it made us really appreciate the morning and having Pall shepherd us through the crowds ensuring we didn't miss anything important. We ended the day taking a Ferry back to the port (a nice scenic ride). Well worth the money to have a local personal tour guide such as Pall.

Paul was a true ‘surprise packet’. Not born and bred Cinque Terre, but an extremely passionate long-term resident of the area. As an obvious avid hiker, combined with a true love of the local history and people, he brought to life our understanding of the locality, and was able to take us places, and inform us of the past and present without any potential bias that a local might have. Though we flinched at the thought of climbing the truly massive hill behind Riomaggiore, Paul made it so easy, stopping regularly and just often enough, to inform us of something at hand, or for a short rest. Having lived in the region for decades, and explored it extensively, Paul also gave us tips on other things to do, places to eat etc.
